What Happened to Gay Pride and Identity in Plainfield?!

An excerpt from a conversation I had with a 'friend' in Sleepy Hollow. With their permission, I was able to record the conversation and post this section. Enjoy!

Some of the gay community here in Plainfield has become an utter joke in the Queen City. Gay communities statewide are laughing at the way they are letting Adrian Mapp use them. I am just happy that I do not live in Plainfield. They need to wake up and smell the Folders!

When someone asked Adrian Mapp the question, “Is Jim McGreevey involved with your campaign?” and he replied emphatically, “No way! No How! No!” I take it Mapp was caught up in one of his arrogant tirades.

Or maybe, he still listens to George Benbow, who publically has come out in being very critical of the gay community. This same Benbow, another New Democrat who Adrian depends on for political advice, is a close friend of Adrian, one of his top advisors. It’s clear as day that he is more important to Mapp than McGreevey.

I don’t see why the gay community in Plainfield can’t see through Adrian Mapp. He has no respect for you, nor does he plan to use you after the election. People keep asking the question, “What happen to Adrian and Annie’s relationship?” I think it’s time for her to speak up, because she is a good friend of McGreevey.

When Adrian embarrassed McGreevey, I personally, think she took it personally. I think Adrian is more concerned of how George Benbow feels rather than how the gay community feels.

I read on the blog today that Garden State Equality has endorsed Green/Stender/Robinson-Briggs. Reading their press release, I see they are very proud of what Mr. Green has done for the gay community statewide.

My understanding is that on the street, the word is that the Mapp/Smiley team has received the endorsement from George Benbow. Is this the same George Benbow who is Adrian’s number one advisor, and has been charged with taking advantage of minors?

Is this the same George Benbow that came out AGAINST the gay community when Adrian Mapp was on Council?

Is this the same George Benbow who would NOT allow Jim McGreevey to work on Mapp’s campaign?

Interesting…

I read Bernice Paglia’s blog today, June 10th, and I am shocked that she made such a distracting error. Here is a woman who is insanely critical of the way people speak as well as their grammar, and yet, in this blog, she made such a numbskull mistake.

She writes: “The city will hold the annual fireworks display on Thursday, June 2 to avoid overtime costs, while the parade will still take place on Saturday, July 4th.”

Now is this a senior moment, for June 2nd’s past, or does she not remember how to spell ‘July?’

One thing I’ve learned from Bernice is that before I’m critical of people in the way she is, I’ll be sure to hit the ‘does-this-make-sense’ button.

Doc and Bernice have so much in common that they really need to consider dating. By the subject matter alone of their blogs, they really do not have lives.

For some reason or another, JG is reluctant to put the truth out about Bill Hetfield and his family. It was Bill’s father who destroyed the City 40yrs ago as Mayor. Now Bill is acting like Bush, having selective memory, choosing to act as if he doesn't remember what kind of foundation his father laid. Mayor Hetfield is what started Plainfield on this road to perdition. He was more concerned about making his Republican friends in neighboring towns happy, busy preying on low-income families in Plainfield. Bill is STILL probably benefitting from his dad’s work in turning Plainfield into a slum city.
Bill still owns properties in depressed areas, but doesn’t speak about those who he’s getting over on.

Bill, did you forget to take your medicine today??

I take my hat off to Annie McWilliams when she said no to Rebecca’s advances. Rebecca has not been the same person since. She is really acting like a person who’s really lost it. Rebecca’s becoming the biggest joke in Plainfield. Now that she’s jumped on the Republican bandwagon in the 22nd district, she is showing total disrespect for the gay community. In fact, a gay friend of mine told me that after talking to Rebecca, he needs to go home and shower because she’s so out of it (I’ll keep personal opinion out of this).

How can Rebecca look her partner in the face when she works for someone who doesn’t care about either of them? It will be a cold day in hell before ANY Republican in Trenton will vote to give ANY person in the gay community the respect they deserve. This issue about the gay community and the role they will play in this campaign: get ready for it!!

It seems like nobody wants to talk about it, so it’s brutally clear that many are in the closet about it, but they will have to come out of the closet come election time. Like Dan Damon says, 'the word on the street' is that between those in the closet and those on the down-low, its going to be like Ali and Frazier come election time, a rumble in the jungle!

I read today’s blogs and I thought that Assemblyman Green and the New Democrats were doing at one time, more damage to the city’s reputation with all of their in fighting than anything else. But now I think this new crew of Bush Republicans, led by the Republican mayoral candidate Jim Pivnichny and his wife, who happens to be a lawyer, are very, very embarrassing to the City.

I recently attended a CAG meeting a few days ago, and the showing that Piv’s wife and he made was very embarrassing to watch. His wife made it clear as day that she was not apart of the Save Muhlenberg initiative with the questions she kept pressing. The question she kept asking had already been answered; in working with POP, I saw firsthand how the Assemblyman and POP reached out for every elected official within the immediate area, and the majority of them came to testify on behalf of Save Muhlenberg, including councilman Glover from Scotch Plains.

Now we have a new group of individuals who are responding on the blog as ‘anonymous’, but in reality, these people are die-hard Republicans who cant get over the fact that they were embarrassed in last November’s election. And now, they are beating up on ALL of the council members, including the New Democrats.

Republicans are not going to talk about chasing people out of their communities, who are looking for affording housing dwellings. They aren’t even looking to invite affordable housing units into their communities. For example, Watchung advertised that they had ONE affordable housing unit available in their community, only ONE! And that unit was advertised specifically as a senior citizen unit.

So the Republicans that are being forced to live in Plainfield because they can't afford to move to Watchung should ask their candidate Chris Christie, “Rather than build more affordable units in Plainfield, can you please build affordable housing units in places like Watchung, so we don’t have to live here and suffer anymore?”

One of the Republican candidates running for the Assembly could not HANDLE the diverse community of Plainfield, so he moved to Scotch Plains. I’m not great fan of Adrian Mapp OR Dan Damon, but I give them credit, because they DO KNOW where to draw the line.

From now until November, you will not hear the Republicans complain about Christie and his agenda, which he has yet to discuss, but would rather beat up on not only the Democrats, but also the New Democrats. What’s sad is that the New Democrats can’t even hold their noses in support of them.

Sorry.. but my 2 cents. Jim McGreevey used the gay community and I am sure to some extent, he still does. " I AM A GAY AMERICAN " was smoke and mirrors for -- " I have run one of the more ( notice I did not say most ) corrupt administrations in NJ history. I threw my morals out the door and begged, borrowed, bartered and gave away any chance at legitimacy by brokering with party bosses and special interests. My hands were so deep in the pile of muck that is Trenton and then I went and tried hiring my boyfriend to a job that started bringing out all my crap. So I had to think of something to extricate myself from the teetering house of cards before it fell." Jim McGreevey is NO friend of the gay community, in Plainfield, NJ or the USA. I am not jumping up and down about Adrian Mapp, but I certainly wouldn't use the lack of Jim McGreevey being invited to participate as any sort of barometer. Regardless of Mapp's or his campaign people's opinions....consider this...maybe they just didn't want to have that filth next to them. I would no more introduce myself or nod in acknowledgment McGreevey in any situation. And I am a gay American. Just discovered your blog and I cannot wait to finish reading your posts.
