New Light Shining BRIGHT

The new Obama grass-root Democrats, a coalition formed during the presidential campaign season, will be working jointly with the Plainfield Democratic Organization to continuously support and promote President Obama’s agendas. They made a good showing at the Democratic City Committee meeting this past Friday. It is reassuring that they are all registered Democrats from every ward and district in the City of Plainfield.

These were the people who knocked on doors and made phone calls for the Democratic slate headed by President Obama here in Plainfield. In this group, we have a new political voice in the city. Mayor Sharon received a large basis of support from the group. When Adrian Mapp’s name was put up for a vote, not one person stood up on his behalf. They knew first-hand that he was nowhere to be found when it came to supporting President Obama as he campaigned for the Presidency. This was the perfect opportunity of these supporters of President Obama to show Mapp how they felt about him and his politics.

There was nothing negative said about Adrian however, nor the New Democrats, at this meeting. The majority of the people in the community want to see this community come together and form a united front. It's sad when people all over the city want to promote unity but are thwarted by a handful in the community who want nothing to do with progress unless they themselves are brains and/or efforts behind the initiative. They simply do not believe in united teamwork and cannot get over the fact that people outside of their circles are just as bright and informed as they are. This is becoming more and more evident in Plainfield as it moves towards positive change. It’s nice to see however that this new coalition is still pushing for unity in this city, but reality seems to dictate that the handful of negative politicos are fully aligned with the group of 1,000 voters who chose not to vote for President Obama. But for me, I’ll take any day, the 15,000 in this city who chose to support President Obama over the 1,000 ‘haters’ (hahaha!) who chose to support platforms that would continue to move our community backwards (McCain/Palin).

Ps

I hope Mr. Green and this new group will not say anything bad about the former New Democrats who in reality were misled and misinformed. They need to lay the blame where it deserves, on the Republican Party. If I were Adrian Mapp, after seeing what went on Friday night, I would become a full-fledged Republican and run in November.

Now that Maria is no longer a private citizen, but is running on the Adrian Mapp ticket as a committee person, she is finally showing her true colors. Here is a person who has been beating up on the mayor for four years, as well as Eric Watson, and for the last 6 months, along with Bernice, Doc, and Adrian. I was surprised to see so many New Democrats, or rather, people who have a new life of sitting on the sidelines not wanting to get involved, with this election. It’s clear that they realize Adrian is no Al McWilliams, nowhere CLOSE!!!

It’s also clear to me that Chris Estevez, a member of the School Board, is only concerned with the Superintendent not cutting his wife’s six-figured salary job over at the Board of Education, as well as in making sure Maria’s son gets special treatment as a student in the Plainfield public schools. It’s also clear that Adrian and Maria’s campaign is going to being rifle-fed with lies.

I was shocked to see that Adrian doesn’t even have a candidate for the 4th Ward seat on his ticket. This is total disrespect to the people in the 4th ward, and it goes to show you that he feels no one in the 4th ward is intelligent enough to be on his slate. It also shows the lack of his connection to the Plainfield community as a whole. Both he and Maria will definitely be ignoring the 4th ward.

I’m happy to see that the people in the 2nd Ward are seeing that Annie McWilliams is the future of the City of Plainfield, and NOT Adrian Mapp. My hat’s off to the McWilliams family for not allowing Adrian to use Annie like he did Al. It’s becoming a joke in town that Adrian is trying to blame everyone except his political friends for the closure of Muhlenberg. But we are not dumb, the public is not buying into those lies, Solaris openly admitted to its responsibility and activity in initiating the closure of Muhlenberg. Give it up Mapp, or else this is going to be a long, longg campaign race that will leave you broken due to your own works.

Dan I thought April Fool’s Day had come and gone! This isn’t a fight between Dr. Gallon and Asm. Green. My understanding is that this all happened before Dr. Gallon took over as superintendent. So why are you trying to do what you always have done in the past… Divide the black community!

These two black men are too intelligent to allow this to happen. In fact, just last night, they were together praising one another with their productive working relationship in the district, something that wasn’t done in the past. You did it to Al and Jerry, and now you’re trying to do it to Steve and Jerry. All black men aren’t dumb like your partner. Maybe one day he’ll wake up and smell the coffee.

This problem happened under the current candidate that’s running for the BOE, Pat Barksdale. When she was President, she was in control of the Board, and ran TWO superintendents out of town in ONE year!

I’m shocked that I had to read that someone’s questioning Dr. Gallon’s professional background as an educator. Check the man’s resume, it speaks for itself. They are constantly trying to embarrass Assemblyman Green this same way, but check his resume it too speaks for itself. So it’s plain as day that to be a team player with the New Democrats, you have to be stupid and dumb, having no SENSE of your own community.
